The city of Sheffield has a rich industrial history, and gained an international reputation for steel production during the 19th century. Many changes have been taking place in the city over the past decade or so, including the building of the unique ‘Winter Gardens’ and the redevelopment of the vibrant market in the town centre. The city has an impressive sporting background, playing home to two of the country’s oldest football clubs, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.
